Celebrating the Francophonie: A Family-Friendly, Community-Building Event in Downtown!

The great outdoors. Barbecues. Local flavors.

Families, friends, neighbors… and new acquaintances.

The French Fest is Sudbury’s big annual celebration of the French-speaking world. An event open to everyone, it brings together Francophones, Francophiles, newcomers, people from here and elsewhere, and anyone who wants to enjoy a warm and festive atmosphere.

At the heart of the festival: grilled foods, local products, and regional specialties that showcase our region’s producers, partners, and expertise, as well as artists from here and elsewhere who will have the crowd singing, dancing, and celebrating. It’s an opportunity to discover what our region has to offer, share an outdoor meal, and celebrate a welcoming, vibrant, and unifying community.

Throughout the day, families can enjoy a host of youth activities, entertainment, and experiences designed for all ages. Children play, explore, and marvel, while parents take the time to reconnect and enjoy the atmosphere, which continues into the evening.

This edition of French Fest is one people will be talking about for a long time to come: “Oh yeah… that one was something else!” Because 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of the Carrefour francophone de Sudbury, and we’re celebrating in a big way!

The Memorial Park will be set up to host Le French Fest 2026 and bring the heart of downtown to life! After a summer packed with festivals and events, the park continues to serve as a gathering place and hub of activity. Bring your chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy the festivities to the fullest! It’s a wonderful way to bring even more life and French-speaking culture to downtown Sudbury. Thank you to the City of Greater Sudbury and Downtown Sudbury for their support.
