The festival will kick off in style with Ari Cui Cui, who will take the cultural stage by storm to treat little ones and their families to a children’s show brimming with energy, music, and magic.
A festive opening event to get French Fest 2026 off to a great start and have the whole family singing, dancing, and dreaming!
The Memorial Park will be set up to host Le French Fest 2026 and bring the heart of downtown to life! After a summer packed with festivals and events, the park continues to serve as a gathering place and hub of activity. Bring your chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy the festivities to the fullest! It’s a wonderful way to bring even more life and French-speaking culture to downtown Sudbury. Thank you to the City of Greater Sudbury and Downtown Sudbury for their support.
(11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.)
Ari Cui Cui is a singer, cook, gardener, and loves to tinker with new things! She knows how to work a little magic into everything to make the ordinary extraordinary!
Winner of the Félix Award for Album or DVD of the Year – Youth at the 2021 ADISQ Gala for *Les chansons fabricolées de la télé* (Seasons 1 and 2), Ari Cui Cui continues her momentum with a new winter musical adventure: *Ari Cui Cui et les patins magiques* (Spectra Musique / Evenko). The actress, singer, and songwriter also welcomes little ones on ici.tou.tv with her “Ari Cui Cui” shows, for which she won the 2018 Gémeaux Award for Best Children’s Program.
Whether on stage, on TV, on albums, or even through her book series (Dominique et Compagnie), Ari Cui Cui shares her infectious joy of singing and dancing with her beloved “little cookies.” Step into her magical and delicious world!
(10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
A carnival-like atmosphere for the whole family!
In a festive, carnival-like atmosphere, our partners—organizations, entrepreneurs, artisans, merchants, and artists—will set up booths to share their worlds and connect with the community.
Visitors can stroll through the different areas and enjoy a variety of experiences: explore the craft market, take on sports challenges and games of skill, get their faces painted, move to the rhythm of soccer, or let their creativity run wild with artistic, musical, and sensory activities. Families can also take part in a treasure hunt, test their skills on obstacle courses and in team games, or take a moment to listen to a story.
Music, new discoveries, games, and a few little surprises will also punctuate the day to keep the atmosphere lively and inclusive.
A wonderful opportunity to explore, participate, and have fun, all while meeting the people and initiatives that help bring our community to life!
The great outdoors. Barbecues. Local flavors.
Families, friends, neighbors… and new acquaintances.
The French Fest is Sudbury’s big annual celebration of the French-speaking world. An event open to everyone, it brings together Francophones, Francophiles, newcomers, people from here and elsewhere, and anyone who wants to enjoy a warm and festive atmosphere.
At the heart of the festival: grilled foods, local products, and regional specialties that showcase our region’s producers, partners, and expertise, as well as artists from here and elsewhere who will have the crowd singing, dancing, and celebrating. It’s an opportunity to discover what our region has to offer, share an outdoor meal, and celebrate a welcoming, vibrant, and unifying community.
Throughout the day, families can enjoy a host of youth activities, entertainment, and experiences designed for all ages. Children play, explore, and marvel, while parents take the time to reconnect and enjoy the atmosphere, which continues into the evening.
This edition of French Fest is one people will be talking about for a long time to come: “Oh yeah… that one was something else!” Because 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of the Carrefour francophone de Sudbury, and we’re celebrating in a big way!
French Fest is the one day of the year you won’t want to miss! Grab your calendar, circle September 26, and make plans with your loved ones. And for those who don’t have a calendar, the back of your hand is always a safe bet.
We’ll see you at Memorial Park to celebrate together the French-speaking world, diversity, and everything that brings our community to life.
