Serge Monette : Monette Trio

The Monette Trio features Serge Monette, accompanied by George Turcotte and Élodie Monette-Dugas, in a warm, authentic show deeply rooted in Northern Ontario.

With his sixth album, *Un gars de la Vallée*, Monette returns to his roots. He tells stories of the North, families, the land, the mines, the roads, memories, and that Franco-Ontarian identity forged between French and English.

At the heart of the show: Tarois, this unique language that blends, transforms, and celebrates the local French. A language long mocked, but one that is now becoming a true creative force.

On stage, the songs from *Un gars de la Vallée* come to life in a world of folk, country, and roots music, driven by personal stories that resonate with a collective memory. Monette sings about ordinary people, workers, families, and those who have built their lives with their hands, their courage, and their dreams.

Accompanied by guitar, mandolin, banjo, and harmonies, the trio presents an intimate, energetic, and unifying show where music becomes a way to tell our story and keep our language alive.

*Un gars de la Vallée* is more than just an album: it’s a return to our roots, a celebration of Franco-Ontarian identity, and a voice that refuses to be silenced.

Monette Trio—authentic, heartfelt, and deeply rooted country music.

Tropic-All Soundbury

Tropic-All Soundbury is Sudbury’s first Latin music band, bringing together local musicians passionate about Afro-Latin rhythms and the rich musical heritage of the Caribbean and Latin America. As their name suggests, the Frogs are three French guys who know how to bring the energy. Les Talentueux

Coming from different backgrounds and walks of life, the members of this house band share a deep passion for music and a history that has brought them to Sudbury.

Hailing primarily from Côte d’Ivoire and the Congo, the group—led by Ivan Diro—features Asael Sobabe on drums, Jonathan Camara on guitar, Patrice Munyama on bass, Lévi Beugré on piano, and violinist Firtry Kibwa. Joining them are Eva and Japha, who lend their voices to this ensemble with its rich and varied influences.

Through their music, they aim to build bridges between cultures, introduce audiences to their artistic world, and contribute to Sudbury’s cultural richness. Their music reflects their journey: diverse, warm, lively, and deeply human.

At Sudbury’s French Fest, the group is delighted to share this energy with the audience and introduce them to music nourished by their roots, their experiences, and their life in Northern Ontario.

For them, music is much more than a passion: it’s a way to bring people together, celebrate diversity, and make Sudbury vibrate to the rhythm of their stories and cultures.
