Pandora Topp presents Sina Momtahan

Not all great talents are great stars. Discovering them, despite their relative obscurity, is a keenly felt pleasure. We gain an appreciation for our environment, capable of offering such beautiful presences. We share the thrill of a brand-new performance. We experience a moment of beautiful guidance that wants to do good, just by forging a link.

It’s in this spirit that La Slague invites you to “Au bistro des découvertes“. This intimate concert series is carefully curated, with new talent personally recommended by seasoned French Ontario artists. Our old hands on the music scene are well placed to make good musical acquaintances, and like us, the stars love to share their finds with their friends. So be one of their friends!

Au Bistro des Découvertes, you’ll come for the good atmosphere, the good food, the good music, the good company, all under the guidance of the evening’s artist godparents, to create an intimate and convivial evening with their protégés.

An initiative of La Slague, under the artistic direction of Dan Bédard.

Pandora Topp presents …
She’s the unforgettable voice of her Café Piaf, which since its premiere at TNO in 1998 has returned many times to the stage with renowned Toronto orchestras. She’s the gentle voice of toddlers in her Contes d’un violoncelle. She’s the voice behind Artmignons, her wonderful workshop where children and parents become puppeteers together. She’s the artistic pedagogue who’s been invited across the country. Tonight, our accomplished artist introduces us to a Toronto voice with Iranian inflections.

Sina Momtahan
His versatile talent as a musician and producer bridges the gap between classical Persian music and Western rock. He masters many instruments: setar, tanbur and divan on the one hand, guitar, bass, flute and piano on the other, as well as audio technology. His evocative vocals, committed lyrics and innovative compositions make us aware of Iran, a country whose past and present leave no one indifferent.

La Slague's Evolution

La Slague was established in 1964 by the Centre des jeunes de Sudbury. After many years of success, La Slague went dormant, and then reappeared for a time in the mid-1980s as a community-based volunteer organization. With La Slague’s renaissance in 2006 as part of the Carrefour francophone, a third generation of concert promotion activities was afoot.
