Celebrating Our Traditions with Les Troubadours!

A tradition endures when it is truly imbued with life. This choir was formed 30 years ago, it has radiated warmth and joy, nurtured friendship in harmony and wholeheartedly shared the vivid emotions conveyed by choral music. For these invigorating voices of our community, La Slague will provide a rehearsal space and will produce this year’s Christmas event. Director Jean O’Hanley is preparing a concert that embodies both the holiday spirit and a beautiful Sudbury tradition.

Come and sing with us!

We’re always on the lookout for unique and extraordinary voices to join our vocal ensemble! All voice types are welcome.

How does it work?

You write us a note at laslague@carrefour.ca to let us know you’re interested in participating.

You attend a short audition to find out your voice type and the group you belong to (bass, tenor, alto, etc.).

You must then attend the practices, which take place on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in La Zone at Place des Arts.

You’ll also be asked to pay an honorarium to cover some expenses related to your participation.

Prices are as follows:
50 $ for half the year (September to December / January to June)
90 $ for the year (September to December and January to June)

La Slague's Evolution

La Slague was established in 1964 by the Centre des jeunes de Sudbury. After many years of success, La Slague went dormant, and then reappeared for a time in the mid-1980s as a community-based volunteer organization. With La Slague’s renaissance in 2006 as part of the Carrefour francophone, a third generation of concert promotion activities was afoot.
