STEF PAQUETTE : A show 30 years in the making!

Stef Paquette is arguably Sudbury’s biggest export. He’s right up there with the ore.

In 1994, the kid from Chelmsford recorded his first professional cassette with Les Chaîzes Muzicales, soon followed by the band’s EP. Then came his extensive solo career, with two award-winning albums, a string of iconic stand-alone singles, tours across Canada and concerts abroad, not to mention his accomplishments in other fields of arts and culture.

In 2024, Stef revisits his 30-year career for a special St-Jean Day concert event featuring a tremendous band in an evening peppered with reminiscences and his trademark zany banter.

Stef Paquette’s 30th anniversary event kicks off La Slague’s 60th anniversary season. Now that’s a lot of candles to blow out. So, everyone, take a deep breath!

La Slague's Evolution

La Slague was established in 1964 by the Centre des jeunes de Sudbury. After many years of success, La Slague went dormant, and then reappeared for a time in the mid-1980s as a community-based volunteer organization. With La Slague’s renaissance in 2006 as part of the Carrefour francophone, a third generation of concert promotion activities was afoot.
