RENEY RAY

Open and natural, like an unexpected balm on life’s scrapes and scratches, Reney Ray comes to us from a village called Val-Rita in Northern Ontario. She’s a multi-instrumentalist and a singer-songwriter whose way with words is frank, yet sensitive. She delivers country-infused pop-folk with a sincerity that sometimes soothes, sometimes hits hard and never fails to win you over. Voted Francophone Songwriter of the Year at the 2022 Canadian Folk Music Awards, Reney Ray writes and sings with genuine emotion and always wears her heart on her sleeve.

ERIC ROMANICA

The way he makes a song makes you want to listen to what it’s saying. His lyrics deliver honest reflections, while his music is anchored in a solid country-rock vein. He presents himself as a newcomer to songwriting, but it’s an art he’s practiced since his youth, and now wields with maturity. Born and raised in Ottawa, he has lived in North Bay since 2017. “Maudit que je t’aime”, his most recent recording is online at ericromanica.ca. Tonight, in a light and intimate setting, Eric is accompanied by Shaun Sasyniuk and Eric Treleaven.

La Slague's Evolution

La Slague was established in 1964 by the Centre des jeunes de Sudbury. After many years of success, La Slague went dormant, and then reappeared for a time in the mid-1980s as a community-based volunteer organization. With La Slague’s renaissance in 2006 as part of the Carrefour francophone, a third generation of concert promotion activities was afoot.
