Duncan Cameron presents...
He is one of those aces of Celtic music who makes you envy the genre and its followers. He knows his way around traditional French songs from Quebec as well. The violin is his first instrument, but he also plays mandolin, guitar, tinwhistle, harmonica, bodhrán, and concertina and puts them to good use in arrangements that transcend tradition. He currently resides in Killarney, Ontario. With his guest tonight, we have a fine pair of aces.
Jenny Melvin
She learned to play traditional music on her family’s farm in Nova Scotia’s beautiful Annapolis Valley, then from masters in Ireland, and has travelled the world on its wings. A multi-instrumentalist herself, she adds her harp to the kit, and leads a series of online violin lessons, “Tunes and Tea.” Her style is both fiery and finespun and she believes the best music is close to the floor, where music and dance become one.

La Slague's Evolution
La Slague was established in 1964 by the Centre des jeunes de Sudbury. After many years of success, La Slague went dormant, and then reappeared for a time in the mid-1980s as a community-based volunteer organization. With La Slague’s renaissance in 2006 as part of the Carrefour francophone, a third generation of concert promotion activities was afoot.
