Au bistro des découvertes ! #4

Our popular series of musical pairings presents its third season!

Our sweet little concert series has been a big success! Au bistro des découvertes, as the name implies, is a place for discoveries in music, but also just a nice place to spend an evening. Our audience feedback tells us that this series has a uniquely personal and relaxed vibe that keeps them coming back.

The secret to this special ambiance? It’s the special camaraderie among musicians. The formula is as follows: a well-known figure in Francophone musical circles invites us to meet a lesser-known, yet highly talented musical acquaintance. A high-school friend. A rising star. A talented back-up band member. A dream-come-true stage partner. One thing is sure: it will be a memorable encounter.

Along with their musical recommendations, the host artists also share their food preferences by composing the evening’s meal menu. Their chosen dish and drinks evoke memories of travel and family gatherings or their go-to comfort food. Even the recorded music in the background during the meal is the host artist’s playlist. The overall effect is a special impression, as if we’ve been invited into a star’s inner circle.

Au bistro des découvertes, over the course of two seasons, we’ve welcomed the likes of Robert Paquette, Stef Paquette, Patricia Cano, Dayv Poulin, Ed Landry, Cécile Doo-Kingué, Simon Jutras and many more, including the series’ creator himself, Dan Bédard, in the company of their invited musical guests.

Like us regular folk, headliner musicians love to share their tastes in music with friends. So, come and be a friend! It’s one Tuesday per month, from September to December. Consider this your personal invitation. We will see you soon at Au bistro des découvertes, season 3.

Discover our host artist’s favorite meal from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by the show from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

**Meals by reservation only. For those who wish to enhance their evening experience by sharing the dinner, it must be reserved in advance, no later than the Thursday before the event. No orders can be taken on site. Thank you for your understanding. If you have already reserved your meal, there is no need to contact us. Your reservation has already been recorded.**

Dayv Poulin presents...

With memorable melodies, alluring arrangements and a versatile voice, he has made his mark in the Franco-Ontarian music scene. Following four successful albums, he has recently been releasing a string of singles that have climbed to the top of radio charts. Now, the holidays are here and they’re meant to draw families near. Dayv knows a bit about that.

They will perform their original songs of the season, classic holiday tunes and more, in a special multi-generational musical moment.

Mama G’s, our chef, is announcing a festive menu, featuring Dayv’s favourite holiday dish:

  • Pork skewers
Vegetarian option: paneer and vegetable skewers
  • A small tourtière
    Vegetarian option: multigrain mushroom pie
  • Sides: homemade ketchup and peeled potatoes

La Slague's Evolution

La Slague was established in 1964 by the Centre des jeunes de Sudbury. After many years of success, La Slague went dormant, and then reappeared for a time in the mid-1980s as a community-based volunteer organization. With La Slague’s renaissance in 2006 as part of the Carrefour francophone, a third generation of concert promotion activities was afoot.
